When Madi was born on Christmas Day, we could never have imagined what a gift she would become—not only to our family, but to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

From the very beginning, Madi has had an incredible love of learning. She was always eager to understand how things worked, ask questions, and challenge herself. Throughout elementary school, she consistently excelled academically and was often at the top of her class. What made those years especially meaningful, however, was having teachers who recognized her abilities and helped her continue to grow at her own advanced pace. They didn't simply teach her—they encouraged her curiosity, challenged her to reach higher, and gave her the confidence to believe that she could succeed at anything she put her mind to.

That foundation followed Madi throughout her education. From fourth through eighth grade, she participated in robotics, where she quickly became the team's star programmer. Her talent, determination, and love of problem-solving helped her team qualify for the World Championships every year. Robotics gave her an opportunity to turn her love of learning into something hands-on and exciting, while also teaching her the value of teamwork, perseverance, and creative thinking.

In high school, Madi continued to challenge herself. She took numerous AP courses and passed every AP exam she completed. She also earned enough college credit to graduate high school with an associate degree. And in a graduating class of nearly 700 students, Madi earned the honor of being valedictorian.

As proud as we are of all those accomplishments, what makes us most proud is the person behind them. Madi's elementary school experience helped give her the academic foundation, confidence, and love of learning that carried her forward. Her teachers saw her potential and made sure she had opportunities to keep growing. Just as importantly, she made wonderful friendships there—friendships that have lasted well beyond elementary school, with many of those classmates still among her very best friends today.

Looking back, we are incredibly grateful that Madi had an elementary school where she could be challenged, encouraged, and celebrated for who she was. Her story is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a child is given both a strong academic foundation and the confidence to believe in her own potential.
