Please help send our champion Robotics Club to the National Championship in Kentucky this year. Funds will assist with travel expenses for students.

Summer Dreambox

Earn a math medal- complete 30 lessons on Dreambox before school starts!
Students can access Dreambox from any computer through this web address: https://play.dreambox.com/login/6twa/greena or an I-pad. To access DreamBox on an iPad, search for "DreamBox Math" in the App Store. When prompted in the app, use our School Code: 6twa/greena . Students know how to log into their accounts.  We're finding that they enjoy the time and it is having a positive effect on their math proficiency. You can even set up a parent account so you can see how your child is progressing with their math practice. We hope you'll check it out and encourage your kids to login from home. This individualized, blended learning enhancement to the classroom instruction was paid for with Land Trust money appropriated by our Community Council.

December news and notes

Cold weather reminders.  We hold indoor recess when it is 20 degrees and below or in extreme weather conditions.  In the morning students may wait in the main hallway and cafeteria.  Please send students with coats and accessories for recess.

Speaking of coats and accessories, there are a lot of items in our lost and found.  Please check for your child’s lost items, we will be sending unclaimed items to charity at Christmas Break.

We will have our sledding party incentive for students that meet their reading goal over the Christmas Break.  A reading calendar will be sent home the week of Christmas break, it will also be available on our website.

We are planning literacy night for March 21, 2017.  We’ll be celebrating different types of reading and need volunteers to help with activities.  The stations will be Non-Fiction-Animals, Mystery, Fantasy, Poetry/Jokes, S.T.E.M., Graphic Novels, Diaries, Cooking, Crafts, and Fairy Tales.  If you have creative genius or just a willing heart to help please let Mrs. Gilstrap know.

Safety news from the school- as you know, we have been working with the Mayor and City Council of North Ogden to create safe routes to school, where we still need them. This has been a concern for many years but now there is a plan!  It involves building asphalt pathways connecting the sections of sidewalk on 1700 North and on 2100 North.  We believe that every student will have a safe way to walk or bike to school with the completion of these projects.  As a school community, we will pay one third of the cost - which will be $3833.  A committee of parents is working to raise this money.  They are asking that if you have a business and would like to donate for this project please contact Anna Glazier at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . There will be a banner or sign created recognizing supporters.  We hope to have these projects in addition to the flashing sign in place for the beginning of school.  Please donate if you can.

The Buddy Bench

buddybench300

Derek Knight provided two 'Buddy Benches' for our school as his Eagle Scout Project.  With the help of his family and troop, Derek researched the project, raised the money, and ordered the benches.  With the help of our counselor, Mrs. Ramage and our 2015-16 peer leaders he made this video introducing the purpose of the buddy bench.

The Buddy Bench video

Thanks to Derek, we'll have these awesome benches reminding us to reach out and include each other for many years to come.
